UNDERSTANDING LIQUIFIED NATURAL GAS (LNG)
Natural gas is formed from decomposed organic matter subjected to intense heat and pressure underground over millions of years. It is widely used for power generation because it burns more cleanly than other fossil fuels—an important advantage in regions such as Asia, where coal still accounts for more than half of electricity generation.

Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is natural gas cooled to -160°C, turning it into a liquid for easier, safer, and more economical storage and transport. It is stored in specialized tanks and transported globally by LNG carriers. Upon arrival, it is regasified for use in industries, electricity generation, and homes. As a clean, abundant fuel, natural gas is expected to be the fastest-growing major energy source in the coming decades.
