Operations

Our Focus

Robinson Energy specializes in upstream petroleum exploration and development, focused in the Western Province of Papua New Guinea.

Current Activities

  • Unprecedented opportunity to acquire multiple TCF of natural gas for export to Asian Markets.

  • Successfully awarded in 2025 first licence containing 95.7 mmboe 2C resource -PRL 62 (formerly PRL 40), containing the Puk Puk, Douglas, Weimang, and Langia discoveries.

  • Currently pursuing additional licences.

Resources

  • In the Western Province, there has been estimated 3.2 trillion cubic feet of natural gas discovered across 11 separate structures, and 126 million barrels of liquids and condensate identified.

  • There are attractive fiscal terms in PNG.

Development Plans

  • Construction of 470 km of natural gas transportation pipeline and development of 3.8 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) LNG export facility.

UNDERSTANDING LIQUIFIED NATURAL GAS (LNG)

Natural gas is formed from decomposed organic matter that has been subjected to intense heat and pressure underground over millions of years. It is highly valued for power generation because it is the cleanest-burning fossil fuel—especially in Asia, where more than half of all electricity is still produced from coal.

Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is natural gas cooled to -160°C, turning it into a liquid for easier, safer, and more economical storage and transport. It is stored in specialized tanks and transported globally by LNG carriers. Upon arrival, it is regasified for use in industries, electricity generation, and homes. As a clean, abundant fuel, natural gas is expected to be the fastest-growing major energy source in the coming decades.
